Welcome to Our SMUG Site

The Southwest Michigan PTC/USER Group is a regional user group chartered by PTC/USER for the purpose of educating PTC software users in function and application, as well as creating opportunities for members to meet and exchange information.

SMUG meets twice a year, typically in the greater Grand Rapids area. If you are interested in learning more about SMUG or how to get involved, please contact one of the officers.

How to Join SMUG

Thanks to our sponsors, membership is free and there is no admission charge for our meetings. But you do need to be a SMUG member in order to be notified of upcoming events...and only SMUG members are eligible to win our fabulous door prizes! To qualify for SMUG membership, you simply need to be involved with the use of PTC products and live or work in SW Michigan (or at least be willing to travel there to attend SMUG meetings).

If you satisfy those requirements and would like to join SMUG, you need to first create an account on the PTC/USER Portal. Once you're logged in, navigate to our RUG page (select RUGs, View Current Active RUGs, Southwest Michigan RUG). Occasionally, PTC/USER updates their website AND our hyperlink locations. But what you're looking for is called SMUG Announcement List. As of today, that can found under Forums on our Southwest Michigan RUG page. After selecting SMUG Announcement List, select the email image on the left side. If you hover over it, it should say something like 'Subcribe to Topic'. Another window will pop-up. Click 'Add' for 'Immediate Email'. That's all there is to it!

That forum subscription is what defines our membership roster and it's also how the SMUG officers keep you informed of upcoming events. SMUG members may communicate and network with each other via the SMUG LinkedIn Group.
